There are three main kinds of resumes:

  1. Chronological resume,
  2. Functional resume and
  3. Hybrid resume.

The chronological resume can be structured in four different ways to emphasize certain skills or experiences:

  1. Traditional chronological resume
  2. Technical chronological resume.
  3. Prior experience chronological resume.
  4. Education focused chronological resume.

Your resume must meet certain requirements, exceeding them isn’t always necessary and doesn’t always provide you with any advantage. The best resumes are those that include the most relevant details about you, are easy to read and where the reader can quickly make the link between your skills and their needs.
