20. Acceptance Letter.

<< Previous or Next >>

You’ve just received (hopefully several) formal job offers. After you have decided on “the one”, and maybe even after negotiating different terms, you will need to send them a letter confirming your acceptance and to the terms. The acceptance letter is designed for this purpose.

Most formal offers will include three components: The Position you are accepting, the start date and the remuneration package. There may also be other details such as: Relocation expenses, pre Arranged vacation, working hours, health benefits, pension benefits, any instructions given.

Your acceptance letter needs to confirm your acceptance of the details, especially the position, the terms and the start date

How to construct an acceptance letter.

Example 1

Reference to your letter of March 15th I am pleased to accept your offer for the Administrative Assistant position.
I have reviewed the full details including vacation and remuneration package, which includes health and pension benefits and can confirm they are acceptable too.
My planned last day with ABC Company is April 4th, and I can confirm my start date with you of April 12th.
I am excited at the prospect of working with you and the team and look forward to my first day.

Example 2.

Thank you for offering me the Resort Managers position, I am delighted to accept the position. I also accept the salary of $55,000 per year, up to 10% annual bonus payments, inclusive health benefits and a relocation package covering all moving expenses.

I have scheduled my medical check up for next Monday, and can confirm my arrival on November 1st for the pre-start weekend seminar in Miami. The removal company you recommended will be here next week to inventory my house and provide you with an estimate.
We also agreed I could honor a pre-arranged vacation from January 5th to January 12th inclusive to attend a wedding in the Europe.

Once again thank you for the opportunity to work with you and David Brown, I look forward to making sure we open the resort for the summer as planned.
