5.3. Types of relationships.

<< Previous or Next >>

You already know not everyone you meet will stay in contact with you, or you’ll have the same type of relationship with every contact. The people in your network of contacts will fall into three types of relationship, and you will probably have very different types of conversations with each group.

The regular frequent group.
You already have people who fit into this type of criteria and are your close friends and family. These are people you’re likely to speak with on a weekly if not daily basis, think of them as your inner circle. These relationships have taken time to cultivate and are the strongest.

The often group.
These are people you’ll interact with less frequently and may speak with them only once every month or two. The types of conversations you are going to have with these people will be different, to the other groups.

The seldom group.
These are contacts that you may only speak with once or twice a year, and the relationship is not as strong as the other two groups.
